Jaguars offensive lineman Mackenzy Bernadeau had plenty of time to think about a disappointing training camp Thursday night during the team’s preseason opener against the New York Jets.
He didn’t play a single first-half snap.
Once considered an option to start at left guard after signing with the Jaguars in March, Bernadeau has been shuffled down the depth chart; now, instead of trying to solidify a starting role, he must prove he’s deserving of a roster spot.
“When that time comes, we’ll deal with it then,” Bernadeau said. “I’m just focused on what I have to do right now and playing my role.
