JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The vision has been proposed for big changes at EverBank Field. Now it is in the Jacksonville City Council's hands to decide whether the timing is right and the money is available to pay the city's share -- $45 million.
The council on Tuesday night formally accepts the proposal outlined last week by Mayor Lenny Curry to partner with the Jaguars to build an indoor practice facility and an amphitheater, plus other changes inside the stadium.
The city is proposing to leverage bed tax dollars to pay its share of the projected $90 million in improvements.
