One of the central figures of former Iowa State point guard Nikki Moody’s racial discrimination lawsuit against the school, the state and coach Bill Fennelly made her first public statement Tuesday.
“Being a cyclone (sic) for Coach Fen was the HARDEST most rewarding four years I could imagine,” former Cyclone Brynn Williamson wrote in a message posted to Twitter. “There were times I would call my parents not sure if I would make it and they always told me, he’s your coach. You need to respect him, He knows what he’s doing.
“My parents, both athletes before, knew that he wanted to make me better and that I had to buy into that…I knew I was a basketball player when I got there but more importantly I knew what kind of person I was when I left.
