Jadda Buckley walked up to the table in the Pete Taylor Media Room on Monday with a boot on her left foot. She’s been battling what coach Bill Fennelly’s called a “sore foot” for about a month on top of playing more than 30 minutes a night.
So, when she was asked what this midweek bye will do for her — as well as the rest of the Iowa State women’s basketball team — Buckley formed a smile and nodded her head.
“We started off with some big games against Texas and Okie State,” she said, “so to be able to have rest for our bodies for a week before the second half, so to speak, of conference play starts, that’s always nice on the body.
