Bill Fennelly is a numbers guy, often reciting specific statistics from memory when he discusses his Iowa State women’s basketball team. On Sunday, one figure stuck out to him — and not in a good way, either.
“When you go on the road and turn the ball over 23 times,” Fennelly said on the Cyclone Radio Network postgame show, “that’s never a good thing.”
The Cyclones lost to Texas Tech in overtime on Sunday, 69-66, in front of 4,108 at United Supermarkets Arena. They committed 23 turnovers over 45 minutes, which translated to 22 points for the Lady Raiders.
