TeeTee Starks, a true freshman on the Iowa State women’s basketball team, is scheduled to undergo surgery on Wednesday to repair articular cartilage damage in her left knee, an ISU spokesman confirmed to the Ames Tribune on Monday.
No timetable was given for her recovery. Coach Bill Fennelly did not release a statement, but will speak on Thursday afternoon ahead of the team’s game against Alcorn State on Sunday (2 p.m., Cyclones.tv).
Starks will likely miss the remainder of the 2015-16 season and pursue a medical redshirt, ISU told the Tribune.
The surgery will help relieve chronic pain in Starks’ left knee.
