Women’s Basketball: Notebook — Blaskowsky locks down Martin

Seanna Johnson didn’t hesitate when asked how the Iowa State women’s basketball team stopped Brittney Martin, Oklahoma State’s All-American guard. Johnson smiled wide and almost shouted her answer.

“Kidd Blaskowsky,” she said.

Martin entered Saturday’s game between the Cyclones and Cowgirls averaging 24.0 points per game, good for tops in the Big 12. She finished with just six points on 3-of-9 shooting, as ISU beat Oklahoma State, 49-42, at Hilton Coliseum.

Senior Nicole ‘Kidd’ Blaskowsky drew the main defensive assignment against Martin. She said it was something she took pride in, and made the most of her opportunity.
