The bus that carried the Baylor women’s basketball team arrived at Hilton Coliseum about 75 minutes before tipoff. The Lady Bears sauntered off the bus with a swagger befitting the fourth-ranked team in the country.
That confidence carried to the court, as they drew the attention of the 11,587 fans nestled inside during warmups. Their collective size caused many jaws to drop in intimidation. They soon showed the crowd, as well as Bill Fennelly and Co., why Saturday was strictly business.
No. 4 Baylor beat Iowa State, 77-61, on Saturday afternoon. The Lady Bears (19-1, 6-1 Big 12) were simply too big, too powerful and too efficient for the Cyclones (11-7, 3-4), now losers of three straight.
