The Iowa State women’s basketball team had won 12-straight games at Hilton Coliseum entering Saturday afternoon’s game. The fourth game of that streak was last year’s home finale, a 76-71 win over then-No. 3 Baylor.
The fourth-ranked Lady Bears sought to end that streak, and did so in dominating fashion. Baylor beat the Cyclones, 77-61, in front of 11,587 on Saturday at Hilton Coliseum.
The loss is ISU’s third straight after opening its conference slate 3-1. The Lady Bears’ (19-1, 6-1 Big 12) size proved to be too much, as they scored 44 paint points to anchor a 31-of-62 overall shooting performance.
