Former Iowa State women’s basketball player Nikki Moody filed a lawsuit in state district court suing Iowa State University, women’s basketball coach Bill Fennelly and the state for racial discrimination.
The lawsuit, filed Friday, which the Ames Tribune obtained on Monday, says Fennelly harassed and discriminated against Moody. Moody, who is African-American, said it caused a “hostile” environment because of “racial harassment.”
Moody, a four-year starter, played at ISU from 2011-2015. She is one of the most decorated players in program history. She earned honorable mention All-American honors in 2015 and is ISU’s all-time leader in assists.
