Women’s Basketball: Kansas State overpowers Cyclones

The Iowa State women’s basketball team struggled offensively on Wednesday night in a 68-53 loss to Kansas State.

The Cyclones (13-14, 5-11 Big 12) shot 27.7 percent from the field in what became their 11th loss in 14 games. They couldn’t keep up with the Wildcats (18-9, 8-8), who went 28-of-61 from the field and pieced together strong runs in each quarter to win handily.

Kansas State was led by Breanna Lewis, who made her first 10 shots from the field and ultimately turned in a double-double with 25 points and 16 rebounds. Three Cyclones scored in double figures, though, as Nicole ‘Kidd’ Blaskowsky, Bridget Carleton and Emily Durr totaled 12, 11 and 10 points, respectively.
