Seanna Johnson entered the Sukup Basketball Complex on Monday morning and her teammates erupted with joy. Nicole ‘Kidd’ Blaskowsky gave her a hug. Iowa State women’s basketball coach Bill Fennelly smiled, because his star player had finally returned.

Johnson, a junior guard, is back with the team after taking a brief leave last week. Her father, Curtis, suffered a stroke, so Johnson left to be with her family.

“It’s good to be back,” Johnson said. “I’m OK. A little tired, but I’m OK.”

Johnson missed two games against Kansas State and No. 23 Oklahoma. The Cyclones lost both contests, running their record to 13-15 overall and 5-12 in the Big 12.
