One of the first things that popped into Bill Fennelly’s mind after he learned TeeTee Starks would be lost for the season was the number 22. That’s Starks’ minutes-per-game average, and it was something Fennelly focused on figuring out immediately.
On Thursday, inside the Sukup Basketball Complex, Fennelly gave many a hint about how he planned on filling those minutes. He talked with a cautiously-optimistic tone about playing two post players when Iowa State plays Alcorn State this afternoon (2 p.m., Cyclones.tv).
“I feel bad for kids that get hurt, but our focus has to be on who’s available,” Fennelly said, “and with what’s available, for us, we’ll be playing two big kids at the same time.
