Women’s Basketball: ISU rallies to beat Iowa

Hilton Magic struck for the second time in as many nights, as the Iowa State women’s basketball team overcame an 11-point deficit to beat No. 23 Iowa, 69-66, on Friday night.

The Cyclones (5-3) opened the fourth quarter on a 9-1 run to tie the game at 55, and battled back and forth with Iowa (8-2), ultimately taking a 67-61 lead with 1 minute, 14 seconds left. The Hawkeyes battled back, and came within a point at 67-66 with 7 seconds left.

Seanna Johnson sank two free throws to put ISU up three. The Hawkeyes’ potential game-tying shot was off the mark.
