The Iowa State women’s basketball team was selected to finish fourth in the Big 12 preseason poll announced Wednesday morning.
It is the highest preseason ranking since the 2008-09 season, when the Cyclones were picked to finished third.
Baylor was selected to win the conference. The Bears had eight first-place votes. Texas was picked to finish second and Oklahoma was ranked third. Each had one first-place vote.
ISU has either met or finished higher than the preseason projections every year since the 2002-03 season. The Cyclones open their 2015-16 campaign on Nov. 13, when they host Hampton at Hilton Coliseum.
