Paradise was not kind to the Iowa State women’s basketball team.
A day after No. 15 Duke trounced the Cyclones, the Idaho women’s basketball team, behind two 20-point scorers, beat ISU, 97-65, in the teams’ final game at the Cancun Challenge on Saturday morning.
For the first time in 12 years, the Cyclones have more losses than wins, at 2-3. They were 10-11 midway through the 2003-04 season. They also lost three games in the month of November for the first time since the 1980-81 season.
“This team is poorly coached right now, and it’s my fault,” head coach Bill Fennelly said on the Cyclone Network postgame radio show.
