Bridget Carleton entered the Pete Taylor Media Room underneath Hilton Coliseum with a smile on her face. The true freshman had to know she was going to be asked about her debut performance for the Iowa State women’s basketball team.
On Thursday night, Carleton was everywhere. She charged through the paint for layups. She took shots immediately off of passes. She sunk 8 of her 17 shots, and led the Cyclones with 17 points in a 79-36 exhibition victory over Midwestern State.
“It was really fun,” Carleton said. “It was a nerve-racking experience at first, but the fans were awesome.
