DES MOINES — After the Iowa State women’s basketball team’s season-opening victory over Hampton last Friday, coach Bill Fennelly said he wanted “a little bit more” out of his post players.
Ultimately, he sought improvement, and over the season, he prefers consistency.
“They’ll have their moments, but if we can get something a little bit more consistent from them … balance is a great thing,” Fennelly said then. “It causes a lot of teams a lot of heartache, trying to figure out how to guard when there’s multiple options on the court.”
On Sunday, after the Cyclones’ 74-70 loss to Drake, Fennelly is still searching for that steady post presence.
