The Duke women’s basketball team has never lost in Cancun and has never lost to Iowa State. On Friday afternoon, the No. 15 Blue Devils kept both of those streaks intact.
Three Duke players scored in double digits, helping to team to its highest scoring output of the season as the Blue Devils beat the Cyclones, 86-48, at the Cancun Challenge. ISU is now 2-2 on the year while Duke improved to 5-1.
“That was the most physical team we have ever played,” head coach Bill Fennelly said on the Cyclone Network postgame radio show, “and we didn’t handle it at all.
