Bill Fennelly saw a lot of good out of his team after Thursday night’s 76-39 exhibition victory over Midwestern State. The Cyclones improved between the first and second halves. Two freshmen flourished. The veterans did mostly what was expected of them.
But the head coach of the Iowa State women’s basketball team also saw enough to know his team is nowhere near where he thinks they can be. Fennelly hopes to see some improvement when the Cyclones play Concordia University (St. Paul) today in their exhibition finale. The game will be at 2 p.m.
“There’s a lot of stuff to work on, obviously, but this team’s worked really hard,” Fennelly said.
