Bill Fennelly has tried damn near everything to fix his team’s shooting woes. He’s had them shoot more. He’s had them shoot less. He’s moved his players to different sides of the floor in the hopes of a new perspective.

He even recalled a story about Lute Olson, the Iowa men’s basketball coach from 1974-83, and the methods he used to sort out his team’s shooting problem.

“I remember reading an article where they couldn’t make a free throw,” Fennelly said.
