Iowa State women’s basketball players Jadda Buckley and Claire Ricketts were granted medical redshirts for the 2014-15 season according to the Iowa State athletics website.
Buckley suffered a stress injury in her right foot early in the season, and after playing nine games, the sophomore point guard decided to pursue the redshirt. She’ll retain three years of eligibility.
Ricketts fractured her wrist in the season-opener against USC Upstate and didn’t play for the rest of the year. The 6-foot-3 freshman post player will retain four years of eligibility.
After the transfers of Nakiah Bell and Blaire Thomas, the Cyclones will have three sophomores and four freshmen on the roster next season.
