Women’s Basketball: Brynn Williamson’s mom ‘knew’ Moody lawsuit would happen

Angela McLaughlin wasn’t surprised when she found out Nikki Moody was suing Iowa State women’s basketball coach Bill Fennelly for racial discrimination.

McLaughlin’s daughter, Brynn Williamson, played alongside Moody at ISU.

“I knew that this would probably happen after the girls graduated because, not Brynn, but that Nikki had a lot of issues with coach Fennelly,” McLaughlin said.

The lawsuit, filed Friday and obtained by the Ames Tribune on Monday, sued Fennelly, the university and the state. McLaughlin said her daughter’s experience was different than what Moody went through, but said there were some issues with Williamson and Fennelly.
