The memory is still fresh in Bill Fennelly’s mind. Four years ago, when Madison Baier was a senior at South Tama County High School, Fennelly offered her a scholarship to play basketball at Iowa State.
The excitement Fennelly felt then was still palpable at media day on Thursday. As he told the story, he cracked a huge grin.
“When I offered her a scholarship, I didn’t get the question out and she took it,” Fennelly said.
