At the 3-minute, 14-second mark of the fourth quarter, Lexi Albrecht stepped up to the free-throw line and sank both of her shots. In doing so, she ensured that every Cyclone that played contributed to their 91-41 win over Alcorn State on Sunday.
“You never know what’s going to happen after finals and before Christmas,” coach Bill Fennelly said, “but I thought we played great. We did everything we wanted to do.”
The Cyclones (7-3) showcased their strongest outing of the season against the Braves (2-7). They committed a season-low five turnovers, blocked a season-high 11 shots and produced their largest margin of victory since beating Niagara by 50 points in 2008.
