Earlier in the week, Nicole ‘Kidd’ Blaskowsky traded texts with coach Bill Fennelly while he traveled for recruiting purposes. Blaskowsky, a senior, needed to say something to the rest of the Iowa State women’s basketball team.
“I just felt a lot of anger and frustration,” Blaskowsky said, referencing the Cyclones’ 74-70 loss to Drake last Sunday. “I’m a leader on the team, and I want to do whatever it takes to make sure we’re all on the same page with the same mindset.”
The result was Blaskowsky calling a team meeting at the Sukup Basketball Complex before Wednesday morning’s practice.
