The Iowa State volleyball team had the nation’s 10th-ranked team on the ropes, but the Cyclones couldn’t put it on the canvas.
ISU missed out on an opportunity to put No. 10 Kansas in a major hole and eventually lost to the Jayhawks, 3-1, on Wednesday evening at Hilton Coliseum. Kansas prevailed by the scores of 20-25, 28-26, 25-15 and 25-20.
The Cyclones (13-7, 6-3 Big 12) thoroughly controlled play in the first set to take an early 1-0 lead and then shrugged off an early deficit to take the Jayhawks (20-1, 8-1) to the brink in the second set.
