At about 3 a.m. Jason Terrell shot up when he heard a loud bang. It sounded like thunder. It was worse. Someone else in the tent saw an orange glow nearby. A tent 10 feet away was up in flames early Friday morning.
“Hearing fire is not the best thing to wake up to,” Terrell, an Iowa State student said.
ISU Deputy of Police Darin Van Ryswyk told the Ames Tribune the fire department contained the fire and that none of the three people inside the tent were hurt. A blanket caught fire, spreading through the rest of the tent, Van Ryswyk said.
