Don’t expect this Stats 101 to be as waterlogged as the ISU-No. 2 Baylor game. Let’s dive in.
ISU likely walked off the field believing it played a strong game against No. 2 Baylor. The Cyclones outscored the Bears 20-10 in the second half, held them without a point in the third quarter and made them punt five times, more than any other team this season.
But from a statically standpoint, ISU was still a long way from beating Baylor. The Bears won all the key factors, most handedly. They had more yards, yards per play, explosive plays and red zone touchdowns.
