Before each season, Tony Minatta conducts a team-wide competition in which his players earn points based on their overall fitness and soccer skills.
Two years ago, he said Stella Maris Strohman, then a freshman, finished dead last.
“She got like four juggles with her left foot,” said Minatta, who is entering his third year as the Iowa State soccer coach. “I think she did 17 with both feet.”
Nowadays, he said, Strohman, an Ames alum and junior midfielder on the ISU soccer team, can juggle into the 40s with her left foot and close to 100 with both.
