The Iowa State Cyclones defeated the Texas Longhorns 24-0 on Saturday night to pick up their third win of the season. The victory came on the heels of two major changes for Iowa State on offense: Joel Lanning being named starting quarterback and Todd Sturdy being promoted to offensive coordinator. Over 50,000 fans in Jack Trice Stadium watched as the Cyclones dominated every facet of the game en route to their first-ever win over Texas in Ames.
The fact that it happened on Homecoming (and Halloween) made it that much sweeter for a program that hadn't won at home against a team not named Kansas since the Baylor game in 2013.
