Iowa State picked up a verbal commitment from 3-star dual threat quarterback Re-Al Mitchell. Mitchell is out of St. John Bosco high school in California and reported offers from the likes of Rutgers, UCF, South Carolina and Northwestern.

During his junior campaign Mitchell threw for 3,011 yards and 31 touchdowns, and rushed for 1,090 and 16 touchdowns.
