NEWTON — Getting back to state was a breeze for Class 3A No. 4 Nevada. The Cubs had no trouble disposing of Prairie City-Monroe in three sets during the Class 3A regional volleyball finals Tuesday.
Nevada (30-9) is headed back to Cedar Rapids for the third year in a row after sweeping PCM (10-27) in convincing fashion.
“It’s an exciting time,” Nevada senior Amaris Hornbuckle said. “We just qualified for state.”
Hornbuckle keyed an absolutely dominant first set for Nevada against PCM. She served nearly the entire set to help hand PCM a 25-3 throttling.
“We’ve been working on serving in practice and serving under pressure,” Hornbuckle said.
