Offensive Player to Watch vs. Texas: Charlie Kolar

Last week, we pegged Tom Manning as our player to watch, as all eyes would be on the playcalling to see if a more concerted effort to run the football, even when losing, would be established. Outside of one odd goalline offensive series, the offensive gameplan was solid, and moved the ball with ease on against the Sooners with a balanced attack.

This week, Iowa State faces off against a Texas defense that’s been inconsistent this year, especially against the pass.

As you can see, the Longhorns are second-worst in the conference in yards per play against the pass, and third-worst in expected points added against the pass.
