Iowa State men’s basketball coach Steve Prohm held his weekly press conference on Monday. Here are four takeaways from it.
1. Guard Deonte Burton will make his Cyclone debut against Northern Iowa in the Big Four Classic on Saturday (6 p.m., ESPNU). He will play, but Prohm had a hard time saying what exactly his role will be.
“That is a tough thing, right now, dealing with (Naz Mitrou-Long’s) situation right now,” Prohm said. “He is beat up a little bit. Deonte’s role could change based on if Naz is healthy, if Naz isn’t healthy.
Prohm does want to bring Burton, a Marquette transfer, along slowly.
