Men’s Basketball: West Virginia comes from behind to beat ISU

Iowa State blew a 15-point lead and lost to West Virginia, 81-76, on Tuesday night at Hilton Coliseum.

The Cyclones led with under 2 minutes to play, but were outscored 9-2 over the final 1 minute, 4 seconds, with their only basket coming with the game decided and under five seconds on the clock.

ISU, which led by 15 in the first half, has now lost two consecutive games heading into this weekend’s matchup at Oklahoma State.

Georges Niang had 20 points (and eight turnovers) while Abdel Nader added 19 points and Matt Thomas 11 for the Cyclones.
