Men’s Basketball: Texas tops Cyclones in OT

AUSTIN, Texas - The Iowa State men’s basketball team lost its second-straight game, a 94-91 overtime setback to Texas.

The 17th-ranked Cyclones trailed by double-digits much of the game and used a late comeback to force overtime, but were outscored in the final frame 7-4. Georges Niang had a 3-point shot attempt at the buzzer in overtime that would have tied it, but it missed the mark. Niang finished with 27 points and seven rebounds.

Texas (10-6, 2-2) shot 48.6 percent from the floor to send the Cyclones to a 12-4 overall mark and a 1-3 record in the Big 12 in a season in which they were a preseason top-10 team.
