The Iowa State men’s basketball program has set a record for season ticket sales for the 2015-16 season, it was announced on Thursday.
ISU topped last year’s record of 11,880 by getting to 12,173 this season, which is one of the most highly anticipated in school history as the Cyclones open the season as a consensus top-10 team in the country. Hilton Coliseum’s capacity is 14,356.
The Cyclones return four starters, including All-American Georges Niang, from last season’s 25-9 squad which won the Big 12 tournament for the second consecutive season. They were a No. 3 seed in the NCAA tournament before getting upset in the Round of 64 by UAB.
