Iowa State has its next men’s basketball coach.
The Cyclones hired Murray State coach Steve Prohm on Monday, according to multiple national reports.
Prohm, 40, led the Racers to a 104-29 record the last four seasons. He made the 2012 NCAA tournament appearance and won the Ohio Valley Conference regular season title in 2012 and 2015. He won OVC western division titles in 2013, 2014 and 2015.
Prohm will inherit a Cyclone squad expected to be a preseason top 10 team with Final Four aspirations. Prohm’s Murray State teams played a similar style of play to the Cyclones under former coach Fred Hoiberg.
