As NBA commissioner Adam Silver counted out draft picks at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center Thursday night, Monte Morris counted shots at Ames’ Sukup Basketball Complex.
Morris, after plugging in his phone and queuing up some music, heads to the right wing, not far from the spot he drilled a game-winner against Texas, and begins the fourth workout of his Thursday.
Long and productive days like this have become routine for him as he embarks on his third and most important off-season at Iowa State.
“Just trying to be able to take that next step,” Morris said. “It kills me inside, knowing when you lost to UAB you had opportunities out there.
