Three days earlier, when men’s basketball coach Steve Prohm saw his starting frontcourt saddled with early foul trouble in Iowa State’s first game, it became pretty clear that he was likely going to need reinforcements at some point this season.
It meant freshman Brady Ernst will not be redshirting this season. So the Clinton native made his season debut and eliminated the possibility of sitting out this year in the Cyclones’ 106-64 win against Chicago State.
“We’re looking down the road for the Big 12 where you’re going to need some bodies,” Prohm said. “He’s our next true physical presence around the basket.
