Three days after playing 38 minutes in a win against Iowa and seven months after undergoing surgeries on both his hips, Iowa State senior Naz Mitrou-Long missed Iowa State’s 78-64 win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Sunday in order to give his body a break.
“It was a grind the other night against Iowa,” Mitrou-Long said prior to the game. “I played a lot of minutes that night…it took a toll on my body.
“Catching up on some well-needed rest.”
Mitrou-Long said the decision to sit out was a joint verdict he reached with the ISU medical staff and coach Steve Prohm.
