DES MOINES - It was the day Deonte Burton was waiting for, but not the outcome he expected.
The junior made his Iowa State debut in the fifth-ranked Cyclones’ 81-79 loss to Northern Iowa on Saturday at the Big Four Classic.
“It feels good,” Burton said, “but it feels bad because of how everything happened tonight.
“It was a bittersweet feeling.”
Burton hadn’t played in over a year after transferring from Marquette last fall. He played 15 minutes, scoring seven points on 3 of 7 shooting while grabbing three rebounds and dishing out an assist.
