Northern Illinois transfer Darrell Bowie offered Steve Prohm a welcome distraction Thursday when he let the Iowa State coach know he was committing to the Cyclones.
“I called him while he was preparing film for practice for the game on Saturday against (top-ranked) Kansas,” Bowie said in a phone interview with the Ames Tribune, “so I kind of called him during an awkward time, but he was fired up and excited.”
With good reason, as Prohm will be replacing at least three members of this year’s starting five, and Bowie, a 6-foot-7 forward, should be able to help ease the transition as an immediately eligible graduate transfer.
