A pair of Cyclones were named to a pair of national player of the year watch lists Wednesday.
Iowa State senior Georges Niang and junior Monte Morris were both named to the watch lists for the Naismith Trophy and Oscar Robertson Trophy, it was announced.
The Naismith is awarded by the Atlanta Tipoff Club and the Oscar Robertson Trophy by the United State Basketball Writers of America.
Niang is averaging 16.5 points and 5.7 rebounds per game for the Cyclones, who are ranked fifth nationally with a 6-0 record. Morris is registering 15.3 points and 6.
