Iowa State junior Monte Morris was named as one of five final candidates for the Cousey Award, it was announced Monday.
The Cousey Award is given annually to the college basketball’s top point guard. Kentucky’s Tyler Ullis, Oakland’s Kay Felder, Indiana’s Yogi Ferrell and Providence’s Kris Dunn are also under consideration.
Morris is averaging 14.2 points, 7.1 assists and 4.0 rebounds per game this season for the Cyclones, who open play in the Big 12 tournament Thursday at 8 p.m. against Oklahoma.
