Iowa State guard Naz Mitrou-Long underwent an X-ray on his ankle on Saturday to confirm it is a sprain. He is expected to miss seven to 10 days, according to an ISU spokesman.
The Ames Tribune originally reported that Mitrou-Long suffered the injury during Cap City summer league play on Friday night.
The 6-foot-4 guard sat out the second half of last season as a medical redshirt after both his hips did not respond as hoped following off-season surgery. He averaged 12.9 points per game before shutting down his senior season in December.
Mitrou-Long is scheduled to take part in the adidas Nations camp in California starting July 28.
