Two Iowa State men’s basketball players, one current and one former, are among those trying out this week for the Canadian men’s national basketball team.
Melvin Ejim, the 2014 Big 12 player of the year, and Naz Mitrou-Long, who will be a fifth-year senior this upcoming year, are two of 19 participating in the six-day trials in Toronto beginning Friday.
“We’re looking forward to getting into the gym and preparing for competition,” said coach Jay said in a statement. “We need to focus on the preparation – one practice at a time – and get ready for a tough tournament against some of the best in the world.
