Less than 72 hours earlier, Jameel McKay wasn’t sure if a lingering knee injury would keep him from playing in Iowa State’s matchup Saturday with No. 5 Texas A&M, but Thursday it was confirmed the Cyclone big man would play in the Big 12/SEC Challenge contest.
“It’s getting better,” McKay said. “I’m not going to go through any contact (at practice Thursday). I’ll probably shoot a little bit.
“It’s probably something that lingers on for the next week or two. It’s been bothering me for like two weeks…so it’s getting better. Glad we got it early so the inflammation won’t pop or anything.
