Iowa State forward Jameel McKay will play against No. 10 West Virginia on Monday night (8 p.m., ESPN).
“Definitely,” said ISU coach Steve about McKay’s status on the Big 12 men’s basketball teleconference on Monday morning.
McKay didn’t play against TCU on Saturday. McKay called it a “coach’s decision.” McKay, the reigning Big 12 defensive player of the year, was suspended for two games earlier in February because of a practice incident. He returned for two games before not seeing the court against the Horned Frogs.
McKay is averaging 11.7 points and 8.7 rebounds. Prohm has repeatedly said ISU needs McKay at his best for the team to play at its best this season.
